【摘要】:ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiesamethodfortheevaluationoftheultimateaerobicbiodegradabilityofpackagingmaterialsbasedonorganiccompoundsundercontrolledcompostingconditionsbymeasurementofreleasedcarbondioxideattheendofthetest.Thismethodisdesignedtoresembletypicalaerobiccompostingconditionsfortheorganicfractionofmixedmunicipalsolidwaste.Thepackagingmaterialisexposedinalaboratorytesttoaninoculumwhichisderivedfromcompost.Theaerobiccompostingtakesplaceinanenvironmentwhereespeciallytemperature,aerationandhumidityarecloselymonitoredandcontrolled.Thetestmethodisdesignedtoyieldapercentageandrateofconversionofcarbonofthetestmaterialtoreleasedcarbondioxide.TheconditionsdescribedinthisEuropeanStandarddonotnecessarilyalwayscorrespondtotheoptimalconditionsallowingthemaximumdegreeofbiodegradationtooccur.
